Successful Completion of Dam Lowering Procedure at Enguri HPP Reservoir
The procedure for lowering the support dam of the Enguri Hydropower Plant (HPP) reservoir has been successfully completed. The operation was carried out by the mechanical workshop team of the Arch Dam Department.
Following the successful lowering of the support dam, rehabilitation work has commenced on the 19th section of the depth drainage system. This effort aims to enhance the safe operation of the dam and reduce water filtration through the structure.
Prior to this, a specialized project was undertaken to remove accumulated silt from the Enguri reservoir. This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Dutch company DCN Diving and Enguri HPP.
The broader rehabilitation works at Enguri HPP, including this project, are being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
