First phase of digital governance implementation project at Enguri HPP nears completion

7 Jun 2023

The first phase of the digital governance implementation project at Enguri Hydropower Plant (HPP) is nearing completion. In connection with this milestone, an interim working meeting was held at the Enguri HPP headquarters.

The meeting was attended by Zurab Maghradze, Business Development Director of UGT, the company awarded the project contract, and hosted by Irakli Shengelia, Commercial Director of Enguri HPP, along with representatives from the commercial and information technology departments.

The session focused on reviewing the progress of the project and aligning the perspectives of all stakeholders involved. Participants also outlined the next steps in their collaborative efforts moving forward.

As part of the broader project scope, upcoming online sessions will be held featuring participation from leading international organizations experienced in digital governance implementation for hydroelectric facilities.

The initiative was launched following a tender announced in December 2022, aimed at transitioning Enguri HPP to a digital governance system. The contract was awarded to UGT, with the Austrian company Verbund—51% owned by the Austrian government—serving as subcontractor. The first phase of the project has since commenced with the active involvement of Austrian specialists.
